QuickBooks is the most widely used financial software application for small business today. We have broken the topics into two sessions. The first session is a basic introduction to the software and how to get started. The second session will cover some more advanced topics tailored to the workshop attendees and will include a question and answer session. The first session on "Introduction to QuickBooks" on November 12th is geared to an individual who is planning to use QuickBooks, has recently started or is looking for a refresher of the basics and will cover: -Setting up a new company -Creating a chart of accounts and lists -Processing sales and receipts -Estimates and invoicing -Recording purchases and payments -Reconciling banking transactions and recording bank deposits The second session " Intermediate QuickBooks" on November 19th is geared to someone who has attended the introduction session or someone who has been working with QuickBooks. Possible topics would include: -Customizing forms -Memorizing Transactions -Tracking and paying sales tax -Reports -Online banking -Additional topics will be discussed as time allows Both sessions will be taught by Mark Ott, a SCORE Mentor. Mark has been a SCORE mentor for three years and has provided financial guidance to small businesses in different industries for the past 15 years.
