WE CAN, the organization dedicated to empowering Cape Cod women to achieve lasting positive change for themselves and their families, in collaboration with Community Action Committee of Cape Cod and the Islands and Nauset Interfaith Association will be holding a free community talk to address how everyone in the U.S., regardless of immigration status, is entitled to protection under the law – to be free from improper searches or unlawful arrests, and to invoke the right to remain silent if they choose. These Know Your Rights events exist to help our immigrant friends and neighbors learn about these inalienable rights, and how to exercise them. Participants can find out what has changed in immigration law and learn the facts from trusted experts. Their presentation will be offered in English, Spanish and Portuguese with Q & A after. Attorney Collin Mickle of the Community Action Committee of Cape Cod & the Islands will lead the session starting at 6 pm.
