Event Description:
School House Clean Up Project Earns Bobby Freeman His Eagle Scout Rank! Robert Freeman, 17 years old, will be taking on the project of grounds cleanup for the 1869 Schoolhouse Museum in order to earn his Eagle Scout Ranking. We thank Bobby for choosing the Eastham Historical Society. Bobby says he was inspired to reach out to EHS because he drove by the Schoolhouse everyday on the way to school, noticed the grounds upkeep needed and figured that would be a good way to earn his merit badges and help EHS at the same time. Coincidentally, his dad was one of the surveyors for the Schoolhouse renovation. A few words from Bobby: “Some of the people I would like to thank are Gary Lucas, he is a scoutmaster and has helped with experience and tools, Steve Garran who is also a scoutmaster and has helped me keep things in order throughout scouting, Marcio Machado who helped with information on painting and donated a gallon of paint, he works for New England Painting. I would also like to thank Mr. Andrew Shakliks, he was who I talked to get mid-cape home centers to donate the materials needed for the shed. It goes without saying that I would like to thank my parents for constantly helping me and keeping me focused. I would also like to thank Mr. Dave Crary Jr. for help and information.” We wish Bobby the best with this project and as he goes forth with his education and future career in aerospace engineering and the air force. We need volunteers to assist with this project, if you are interested please email us at easthamhistorical@verizon.net
